What are your 2011 Wishes? →
Perhaps a little sappy (I love the sap!) but you can write out your wishes for 2011 and they’ll make them part of the Times Square confetti!
I love this idea perhaps a little too much.

MTV got it right. Seriously, they nailed it. And by “nailed it,” I don’t mean they just did a great PSA for abortion. I mean they told the many-sided truth: that abortion is safe and common, that abortion has been made difficult to get, and, most importantly, that abortion is a complex decision made by complex human beings. (That thump you heard around 11:35 p.m. EST was the...
I love riding the BART
lifeaquatic:
A lot. Do locals say “the BART” or just “BART?” How do I be not a loser?

Conversations with a four-year-old
Joy: Merry Christmas, Sammy!
Sam: Auntie Joy, Santa came to see me.
Joy: That’s because you’re such a good boy! Did anything else exciting happen today?
Sam: I went poop all over the bathroom.
You use exclamation marks as a defense mechanism.

Bah Humbug
Dad: I hate the sound of your text message alert.
Joy: I’m sorry.
Dad: Why does it keep ringing?
Joy: Because it’s Chrismukkah and people want to wish me well?
Dad: Tell them to stop it.
On Traditions
For the last 28 years (28 for me, 15 for him) my dad and I have tried to convince my mom to let us open one present each on Christmas Eve.
For the 28th year in a row we were unsuccessful.
